URGENT: Item apporvals / notifications in 9.0.2

Hi all,
are ther any known issues with portal 9.0.2 regarding setting up the approval/notification feature for items?
I tried to get it up and running without success. I read all the available help pages and compared the guidlines there with my implementation and found no mistakes on my installation.
My environment:
Fresh Oracle9iAS v2 installation. I'm using the seeded portal repository coming with the infrastructure database.
THIS QUESTION IS VERY URGENT.

There are no know inssues with approval/notofications of items.
Could you please give some more detail regarding the nature of problem.

Disabling "Item Deleted" notifications in Collab

Our users are loudly complaining about "Item Deleted" notifications coming through from Collab subscriptions.
I know there are templates for the emails, but even if I deleted the template I'm sure it would still trigger something (like a blank email).
Anyone know how I could go about changing things up to block those types of emails from all users? I'm assuming that is a PEI?

could you put an "unsubscribe" link right in teh collab email template? I think it woudl be possible to link directly to the "my subscriptions" link in the users My Account page.

Deletion of item from notification not possible

hi,
in notification i have 3 items . if i delete one item from that notification,it is not actually deleting the line when i select one item from the list and click on transfer posting from unres to inspec it is posting article document with deleted article.
that means the item is showing deleted but not actually deleted
can anyone suggest me how to delete item from notification permenantly

prevoisuly i have 3 items 1 ,2 ,3
now i deleted 1 item
so 2 item moved to first line
and 3 item moved to 2 nd line
now i selected 2 item (which is in first line after deletion )and did tr posting art document posted with deleted article .
that is prevously in that line which ever article is there with that artcile it is posting
for suppose if i select line 2 (3 rd article after deletion) it is posting article documwnt as if the line is not deleted .
and how i deleted line is i selected particular line and clicked on delete row.
is there any seperate process to delete the row?

Change log of Sales Documents/Item in notification

Hi Guru,
if sales documents/item in notification is changed or removed, the system didn't record the changes in the change log, where I can set it to record the change log for notification?

Yes it should, but maybe those documents were created before the "History / Log" in General Settings > Services were changed from 0 to (example) 99.
Only after this action, information will be recorded in the Chang Log.

URGENT! - Quality Notification - Causes, Tasks, Activities

Hi,
This is in regards to Quality Notifications (QM01/02/03.)
Right now, I have all of the causes, tasks and activities, each in a separate table, for a specific item of a notification.
How do I get the causes, tasks, and activities into one table, in the correct order?
By correct order i mean, say if you go into the details of an item, say it only has one 1 cause, 3 tasks, and 2 activities. Thus, there would be 3 lines for that particular item. In turn, the table that combines causes, tasks, and activities would have 3 lines for the item for a specific notification.
Please help. This is very urgent and important.

Error clicking on item in notification center

When I click on an item in the notification centre, the respective app/website won't launch as it used to. Please help.
Mac Pro. OS X 10.9.3.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

Adding items in notification center

Howdo I add items such as stock prices to the "Today View" of notification center?

There unfortunaltely is no way to completely turn off notifications (that I know of)
How ever there is a 'Do not Disturb' feature which disables it during a specific time period. If you set that for say 00:00 to 23:59, then you can basically disable it.

Work item and notification

Hi Experts
We have worklfow configured for Purchase requisition.
At creation of PR work item is generated. For not responding against work item, a reminder is generated for every day.
This reminder is a notification only (contains text item)
Is it possible to convert these notifications as work items? It menas from any of the reminder, user should be able to release PR.
Please advise.

Your requirement is to execute the WI in the outlook not in the SAP environment. Correct ?
Unforatunately it is not possible. At max. you can send the notification.
I have found in some threads that using DUETS you can achieve it, but you need to check the budget for that. Agian it is not advisable. Reason -> SAP system wont have any data of the approver (in the case where the agent/ approver does not have any SAP User ID)

Q: remove item from Notifications preference pane

I've tried than deleted a few shareware apps. However, the components they installed still appear in Notifications (i.e., the Preference pane in System Preferences, not the Notification Center that slides open from the right).
I don't see any way to remove these items; how do I get rid of them?

There isn’t a way to do that easily.
And, it is completely unnecessary. The items in the list are just text in a file. They don’t do anything and don’t indicate that some part of the program still remains.
The list is likely a sqlite3 database, so you would have to figure out which file holds the database, and then figure out how to write the SQL Delete statement to remove the apps.

SONiC - Items in "Notifications" tab not executable

Hi,
We are using the SONiC connector to view items from the SAP Business Workplace inbox.
Landscape Versions:
ECC 6.0 with SAP EP 7.0 SP 17.
We can see the items in the Notifications tab, but they are not executable, so we can not view the body of the mail. Usually the items appear as URL's, and when they are executed, the message body is displayed.
The connection status is successful for the Notifications tab.
Please advise if you have seen this behaviour, and found a solution for it.

Upto my knowledge , what i know about SONIC is when ever you want to receive mails in the UWL then you will configure SONIC , in order to receive the mails in the notification tab of the UWL., And more over the items under the notification tab are not executable.
By default all the backend workitems will appear under the TASK's tab. and the items under this tab are executable.
so can you be a bit more clear on the issue, or if Iam wrong please let me know

[Urgent] Item missing when filling Subclass Information

Hi All,
I created custom form based on TEMPLATE.fmb and all libraries needed have been attached perfectly.
When I fill Subclass Information 'TEXT_ITEM' in property class of an text item, then compile it, the item does not appear.
But in Oracle Form builder, the item still have width, height, pos x, pos y greater than 0.
Could somebody help me..

I extactly face the same issue. It started happening after I uninstalled and installed 10g developer suite. Does anyone know why this is happening?

I have tried to limit calendar to only one item on notifications screen (ios 8), and even to turn it off, no joy.

The Calendar seems to show on the notifications screen, with room for 3 entries, regardless of settings. Any way to limit it to one, or get it off the notifications screen?

You're talking about two different things: notifications and widgets. The lock screen will only show notifications that you've enabled to show there. When you open notification center, there are two views: "Today" and "Notifications." Today shows widgets. That is where you see the calendar with room for events. It is basically a preview of your upcoming calendar. Under notifications is where you will get notifications if upcoming appointments that have reminders. The settings for each screen are different.
To control your calendar notifications, go to settings--notifications--calendar.
To control the widget, pull down notification center and select edit.
You can turn off the widget but still receive notifications in notification center and on your lock screen or vice versa.

URGENT - Items archiving in Portal - Whats the best way to do this ?

My client has following requirement -
- The client has lots and lots of content.
- The content must show on site for 6 months.
- After 6 months, the content goes to archives (meaning - it does not show on site, but that does NOT mean its deleted - its kind of hidden)
- The archive content must be searchable
- After 4 years some content expires while some of it remains in archive forever
Currently, the client stores the content on a file system and there is a process that moves the items after 6 months to an archiving area and after 4 years some content is deleted and some is retained forever.
What is the best way to approach this requirement ?
If there is a solution how to move their existing system (content valid for 6 months and archives for last 4 yrs) to portal ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are a couple of ways to do this:
1. If the items are all file items and don't have extended attributes, you can just use WebDAV to move the items to an archive location (can be another page or a file system). Use a WebDAV command line utility like sitecopy, combined with the WWSBR_ALL_ITEMS view to select the content. sitecopy should be able to select items based on their last modified date, so you may not have to use the view.
2. If you also want to archive the attributes, or if the items include non-file items, you'll need to use the content management APIs to copy the items to an archive page. Currently there is no delete API, so once you've copied the items you'll have to expire the originals and then manually purge them.

Urgent : Item source

I have a radio group with submit with a specified source (PL/SQL Function body). My process does not execute on the load of my page but when I click on debug or when I go to the edit mode and I come back to my application, it executes.
My source is "Only when session state is null". When I choose "Always...", it does not execute.
Is it normal ?
I have some problems understanding how to use the source of items...
