TS1389 iTunes is repeatedly asking to authorize computer for one song on an album

I purchased an album on iTunes and one song on the album repeatedly asks me to authorize this computer but every other song on the album plays.  What is wrong with iTunes?  I enter my apple ID and password and it tells me the computer is already authorized.  But when I try to play the song, it asks again to authorize computer.  Over and over and over.  Something is wrong with iTunes.

You might also try deleting the track, then re-downloading it, which should be free.

Just brought the MacPro and first time using iTune and Yes I authorized the computer. But for a few purchased songs, only 30 seconds of the song plays and for one song off an album, a pop comes up saying I need to authorized the computer, but I do this and it says it is authorized already. I click on the song to play it and this process repeat (saying it is not authorized, then saying it is already authorized)

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • TS1389 Itunes is repeatedly asks me to reauthorize, I have followed all of Apple's recommended steps but I still cannot play my music!

I have hundreds of dollars worth of music in my iTunes, purchased over the years.  I am repeatedly asked to authorize my computer.  I log-in and a window pops up telling me my computer is already authorized.  I have no other authorized devices.  Problem is, when I go to play a song, the whole process starts over again!   Apple is depriving me of music that I've already bought and paid for.  I feel like this is a glitch with the most recent iTunes update because this never happened before.  What can I do??

    Hi
So just close iTunes and re-open iTunes thats it and that worked for you?
When you say reset your settings do you mean to factory settings? As my iPod was swapped at the store for a new one and the problem is still there...
    Thanks.

  • ITunes Music lIbrary Sharing problems; repeatedly asks to authorize computer after it has already been successfully authorized

Having a very frustrating issue. I want to share music from my iMac's iTunes Music Library to my MBP. Purchased music plays fines on my iMac but not on the MBP. I can see the iMac's shared iTunes library from iTunes on my MBP. I have successfully authorized both of my computers using the same iTunes account username and password. When I try to play any purchased iTunes music on the MBP, it asks me to authorize the MBP again. Then it verifies that it is already authorized. Trying to play the same song again asks me to authorize my computer again at iTunes, over and over, ad nauseum. I can log into my iTunes account from both computers (via iTunes) which verifies that the username and password are correct. Both computers have the same version of the MacOS and iTunes, 10.5.8 & 10.4.1, respectively. It does this from multiple user accounts on the MBP. I went to iTunes and deauthorized both computers and reauthorized them again, no change. I uninstalled iTunes & all iTunes preferences and downloaded a fresh iTunes 10.4.1 from Apple, no change. I searched the Apple Communities and tried the suggested fixes in the knowledgebase article,  http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1389  with no change.  I also ran Disk Utility and rebuilt disk permissions but there were no problems found.
Short of doing clean install of the OS or even a reformat and restore, does anyone have any other suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem, the only way to fix it is to oddly enough de-authorize your computer and reauthorize it and you'll have the correct number of authorized computer again.
I do not know why iTunes does this maybe someone else can explain why?

  • When I "Get Album Artwork", iTunes always returns a result that artwork for one song could not be found; but the song is not in my library.

When I "Get Album Artwork" in  iTunes 10.4.0.80 running under Windows 7, iTunes can find the missing artwork requested.  But it also returns the same result, "Artwork for "Aught 7 - Mother Chorizo" could not be found.  The problem is I do not have the song or any song from Aught 7 in my music library.  I'm guessing this is an issue with a corrupted iTunes database.  Can someone tell me how to correct this issue?
    Thanks in advance.

    1. delete this songs from your liblary
    2. go File -> Add File to Liblary... (Ctrl+O) or File -> Add Folder to Liblary

  • I just purchased an album off iTunes but it won't let me download one song...

I just purchased an album off iTunes but it won't let me download one song off the album due to a -100000 error. It tells me to check for available downloads on the "store" bar, and when I click it, the file still won't download. What should I do?~ Any advice would be appreciated. =^w^=

    Hello TheCoddfish,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
So it sounds like you have a preorder you would like to download, but it is not downloading, or you dont have the option to download it.
Without knowing what the preorder was, and if it is released, I found this article named iTunes Store: About Pre-orders found here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5714.
    This part in particular:
    Downloading a pre-ordered item
When a pre-order item becomes available, you will receive an email letting you know your pre-order is available for download.
If you've enabled iTunes to automatically download prepurchased content, then your pre-order content may already be downloaded to your library. If not, simply click the download link provided within your email notification, and your pre-order content will begin to download. Alternatively you can use the "Check for Available Downloads" feature in iTunes on your computer by choosing Store > Check for Available Downloads to begin downloading your pre-order.
To view, cancel, or see the expected release dates for your pending pre-orders
Choose Store > View My Appie ID, then click Manage Pre-orders, which located in the Settings section at the bottom of the Account Information screen in iTunes on your computer.
From the Mange Pre-orders screen, click the Cancel button to the right of the pre-order item you would like to cancel. You'll be asked to confirm your pre-order cancellation.
If the album is released and you still cannot download it, I would report the issue directly to the iTunes Store support.

After having to get a new computer, I tunes repeatedly asks to authorize the computer to play/sync purchased music. However, ITunes is saying that the computer is already authorized. What do I do?

You can transfer all the iTunes purchased music from the iPod Touch to your new computer.
From iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer:
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod has your purchased content from the iTunes Store, you can transfer the content to a computer that is authorized for your Apple ID.
Note: This option only works for content you purchased from the iTunes Store (as opposed to content from other sources, such as CDs you may have imported). For content you did not purchase from the iTunes Store, synchronization occurs in one direction only. This means your content can be copied from a computer to your iOS device, but cannot be copied from your device to a computer.
    Open iTunes.
From the Store menu, choose Authorize Computer.
In the dialog that appears, the Apple ID button is selected by default. If you have an AOL account, select AOL.
Enter your Apple ID or AOL account and password. Then, click the Authorize button.
Connect your device your computer. If it is synced with another iTunes library, the following may appear:
If this alert appears, click Transfer Purchases.
If you were not offered the option to transfer purchases:
After connecting your device to the computer, its icon appears in iTunes. Click the icon.
From the File menu, choose "Transfer Purchases from 'Your device name.'"

    Hey Mohamed Akhtar,
Thanks for the question. To troubleshoot this issue, you may want to try deauthorizing all computers:
iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420
To deauthorize all computers associated with your Apple ID
If you need to authorize your new computer and are unable due to already having five authorized computers, you can deauthorize all computers by doing the following:
    1. Click iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
    2. If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
    3. Click the Account button again (your Apple ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
    4. In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.
Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than two authorized computers. If you need assistance on using this feature, please contact iTunes Store support via email (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/).
If you continue to have issues, you may want to see the steps in this article:

I'm trying to play a song and itunes is repeatly asking me to authorize the account.  I have authorized the account and it will not play one particular song.  What should I do?

If just one song on an album is doing that, that suggests the track is damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • Authorize computer for iTunes

I recently had my logic board replaced in my MacBook Pro.
I'm wondering if that has anything to do with why I'm having issues with iTunes. I just dl-ed an app for my iPhone and it keeps asking me to authorize my computer. I click on "Authorize", input my apple ID and pswd and then it tells me that my computer is already authorized... but then it alerts me that my computer needs to authorized.
This just loops around and around and I can't sync up my apps to my iPhone.
    Any ideas?

  • Repeated Prompts to Authorize Computer

Before someone suggests it I already tried this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389
It didn't resolve my issues.  It just repeats the prompts to authorize and when I try it says my computer is already authorized.  It won't even play in my iPad (3rd Gen).  This just started all of the sudden today and I have not made any changes to my PC (Windows 7) or iPad.  I even tried deauthorizing and re-authorizing with no success.  Any ideas?
I did open a case with Apple but who knows when they will get back to me.

    Hello dlethree
To clarify, have you tried to remove the SC info folder and then authorize your Apple ID again within iTunes?

  • Keeps asking to authorize computer

keeps asking to authorize computer to play a song and still wont play it

My Problem solved. At some point many years ago a duplicate account was made, same info, same password the only difference was a capital letter in the user ID. The account had not been used in so long that it had been deauthorized by apple. I put in a call to apple iphone support and they contacted itunes and fixed the problem. The funny thing is, itunes support could not find the account I use and have been using the past 6 years. Oh well. Problem solved. Oh I found the duplicate account because someone suggested comparing the songs that would not play and the songs closest to them that would play, study the songs info line by line looking for ANY difference.
Thanks Katrina for the suggestions, if not I would have never noticed that one capital N that made all the difference.
