No me sale la opcion Scrollable Frame
Cuando abro el panel de overlay creator me aparecen todas las opcines excepto Scrollable Frame
Quiero hacer lo que este tutorial hace, pero no puedo continuar cuando justo usa esta opción.
Que se supone que tengo que hacer???

I cant see the option Scrollable Frame
When I open the overlay creator panel Common options I listed all except SCROLLING TEXT FRAME.
I want to do what this tutorial does, but I can not continue when just using this option.
What are we supposed that I have to do?

That video is accurate. After you paste the content frame into the container frame, select the container frame (not the content frame), and then the Scrollable Frames option should appear in the Overlays panel when you scroll down.

Pan & Zoom option in Overlay Creator disabled/grayed out when trying to create scrolling text

Hi all,
I'm trying to create a scrolling text frame using the Paste Into method. I've created a long text frame, cut it, pasted into another frame. When I go to the Overlay Creator and click Pan & Zoom, it tells me to select a cropped image. I've tried an identical work flow on another computer and it works fine - the pan only radio button is available.
I've reinstalled the CS5 extensions, restarted my Mac and I can't resolve the issue. I only downloaded the extension tools last week, so I'd hope they aren't too out of date now. The About screen tells me I'm on 11.4.2.20111116_m_671500 7.0.3.13
Any help appreciated.

If you install the Folio Producer tools and then the Folio Builder panel, you should be able to sign in just fine. Let us know if you still get the error.

Problem with text frame dropshadow not completely printing to pdf file.

I am editing a file that had altered corner text frames with a .25 inset and a drop shadow added, .05 stroke and paper swatch. When I deleted text everything shifted so I had to recreate the special frames on select pages. These new text frames are not showing the top and left sides of the frames when saved to pdf file. The right and bottom drop shadow are showing. What am I missing?

I am using the latest version in CC. I tried several exports directly from ID, PDF/X-3:2002, PDF/X-1a:2001 and the low res setting, all with no changes. None showed the left or top border on the frames in question.
So I was getting the first screen shot instead of the second which other similarly formatted frames showed. I checked every setting I could find and they were all the same. The problem just occurred after the point in the doc that I had made changes resulting in some pages being deleted and the page formatting being thrown off which I corrected with the appropriate saved page formats. But when I went to set up the frame dropshadow and accompanying stroke and swatches, the outline just would not show in the pdf although it appeared to be showing in ID.
I've since discovered a work around for the editing so no pages were deleted, but I need to figure out why this happened and what I am not seeing. Perhaps a setting to show the border? Or maybe it is some overall setting that I need to be looking for? Just weird, weird, weird...

Creating text that will scroll in a text frame

I have tried to create text that will scroll in a text frame by following this:
Create your text frame including any inline buttons or hyperlinks. Make note of its width and then draw the frame you wish to hold that content. Make it about 5-7 pixels wider than the text frame and align the two, top and left. Cut the text frame to the clipboard and choose the placeholder frame. Choose edit>past into.
With that frame select, from the overlay creator panel choose pan and zoom and check the pan only option.
When I get to the overlay creator panel and choose pan and zoom, it asks me to select a cropped image. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, I am not creating any of the content on the pasteboard.

Problem with Java scrolling text window on Mac OS

The Java scrolling text window created by AWT "TextArea" scrolls in the normal way from the top on Windows, whereas it scrolls from the bottom on the Mac OS. That is, the text file is first displayed from the bottom on Mac, so that the user has to scroll to the top of the file each time a new page is opened, which is a very nuisance. Have you run into this problem and do you know how to over-ride the Mac OS default? Many thanks.

TextAreas suck in general, this has been discussed many time in the forum. As a duct-tape fix, you might play around with setCaretPosition() after inserting your new text. Good luck

Freeze frame on scrolling text

I've looked in the manual for how to do this, but out of 1,500 pages, I came up empty. I've got some scrolling text and I want the text to stop mid-point on the last frame and hold for a couple of seconds before the transition to the next scene. Anybody know how to do this?

That's not proper FCP behavior.
Try trashing preferences, you can use the link below to make it easier:

Content of Scrolling text won't start at the top of the frame

Despite making the frame exactly the same size as the content the Scrolling text won't start at the top of the frame. It drops down the equivalent of a line of text. Any ideas?

Yes to Text Wrap but its a small graphic (to indicate scrolling text) inset into text halfway down.
The first line of text has a 4 line drop cap with Align to Left Edge checked. The DC is also defined as a Chara Style and doesn't exend above the top of the text.

Bullet problem when creating text frames and tables in InDesign CS5

Every time I create a new text frame or table in InDesign CS5 and paste information there, the first row in the table or several lines of text come out with bullet points. I'm sure this is a setting or style at some point I created and now am unsure of how to delete. I would like the new text frames and tables to not include bullet points as a default when imported or pasted. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Defaults for text in the current document are made with no text selected. Turn off bullets and they should stay off (but check the styles, too, you might have accidentally set a bulleted style as the defualt and you should change the default style instead). If this is happening in all files, you need to do it with nothing open to reset the default for all new documents (existing files, unfortunately, need to be fixed one at a time).

How can I lock in (or pin) text box so it will scroll text within frame?

Problem replacing content in text frame

I am bumping my head against this. Its something I thought I know. I have a labeled text frame when I alert(mySpineTxt.getElements()); it tells me [object TextFrame] that sounds good to me then I use this

this is an event listner that changes the date. This works when I use myDateText.parentStory when I plug it in to the other script i am using same stuff. it doesn't work its object is also listed as a page item.

Problem with master page text frame

I am using ID 4 on a Mac with Snow Leopard 10.6.6. I have created a master with facing pages and master text frame. But the pages based on that master do not have any text frames showing. When I go to Document Setup the Master Text Frame checkbox is ticked, but the tick and the words "Master Text Frame" are greyed out.
I have deleted and reinstalled ID4 and have renamed the InDesign Defaults and InDesing SavedData preference files but no improvement.
I have to place or copy and paste quite a few pages and don't want to create text frames for every page.

Do you mean CS2, version 4, or CS4, version 6? My guess is the former since that seems to behave exactly as you describe with the master frame option inaccessible after you've set up the file. In CS2 the master frame is there, but you don't see it on the document page if it is the same size as the margin guides because they obscure the frame edge. If the Ctrl (Cmd) + Shift + Click in the frame area you should see it become visible as it is overridden and selected.
Aside from that, everything in the first two responses is dead on. If the master frame is the size of the margin guides, it's totally superfluous for normal work and more of a hindrence than a help.

An addendum to Scrolling text problem

Please, if anyone knows some basic component stuff, I'm
really stuck, and I don't know why. When I add a UI scrollbar to
the side of my text field, it appears without the scrolling arrows.
It will work horizontally at the top of the text field, but not
while anchored to the side. I need to find out how to create a
vertical-scrolling text field, either with the scrollbar component,
or Actionscript. I am a beginner, but I have been trying different
things for a couple of hours now. Please, any suggestions would
help.

Scrolling text is jumpy/pulsing when compressed

I'm making end credits using the scroll up text animation behavior in Motion 2.1.2. Whenever I compress it for DVD Studio Pro and insert it the text looks terrible. It is pulsing in and out and is hardly readable. I found a few other people who have had this problem, but no solutions that have helped.
I have done credits using the scrolling text in Final Cut without much problem, but for this project I need motion in order to use text of different sizes.
Here are my specs:
Project Properties - NTSC DV; 720x480; Pixel Aspect Ratio: NTSC D1/DV - 0.90; Field Order: Lower First (Even); Frame Rate: 29.97; Background color is black (0%)
Render Settings - Motion Blur Samples: 8; Shutter Angle: 360; Output Antialiasing Method: Best
I used Export using Compressor: DVD Best Quality 90 minutes 4:3; I tried using the Color+Alpha and just Color in the Output options. Premultiply alpha and Use field render are both checked. Use motion blur is not checked.
Most of the text is Geneva Regular 14 pt font. I have tried completely white as well as setting the RGB sliders all at 235 with no difference. I also tried using a black outline with no difference. The scroll up behavior has a rate of 52.
Please help! It took me forever to put these credits together and I don't want to start from scratch with another program. Making the text bigger helps a little bit but I would really like to keep it the same size for timing and format sake. However, I can't keep it like this because it looks terrible both on an Apple Cinema display and on a tv after burned to DVD.

My first guess would be the font itself. Geneva is a pretty thin font and it's not likely to look good interlaced and on a TV. Can you try a thicker font?
I'd also turn off Field Rendering. It looked much worse with it on than off. Keep Frame Blending though.

Cant get automatic scrolling text pane to work from other classes

Hi guys, I've been creating a program that utilises JInternalFrames, one of which frames is an "event log" which is simply a Document I append text to, problem is I'm getting some strange logic errors. It works fine if it's just left alone and adds text from its internal timer method, but as soon (sometimes on 3rd or 4th call) of it's static method called 'append' it starts spewing out error message - mainly ""AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.NullPointerException", and stops working.
Here is my internal frame (a MyJDesktopPane component), with its internal appendText that works fine.

Multi-state scrollable text frames

I've created a multi-state object with 5 different articles the problem I seem to be having is after scrolling half way down on one and switching to another it remains half way down the scrollable frame. Is there a way to have it return to the top of each state when switching between the states ?

I'm making a portfolio and have 5 separate projects to display, I was hoping to display them on one page with 5 separate buttons allowing the viewer to switch between them seamlessly than to have them on 5 separate pages.
I've got the desired effect thus far using 5 scrollable text frames combined into one multi-state object but switching between states keeps it relative to where the person was in the last state. Due to some articles being smaller vertically than others this can be a problem as it shows up blank which will probably create an impression of the information being non existent or the program not working.
I would appreciate any help on resetting the state to the upper left between changes and not just on the initial opening, or any alternative methods that would create the desired effect.
