R61i Wireless Adaptor wont turn On !

Hello,
I have a thinkpad R61i 8932 CTO. Couple of days back Wireless radio refused to turn On after boot. Wifi light is On though and the hardware switch is also On but radio state is Off. It worked just fine till last time laptop was turned Off and one fine morning radio wont turn to On state. I have Win Vista Home Basic and I did not do anything that (I think) could relate to this problem. I also see unusually long period (4-5 min) of blank screen (with only cursor showing) after entering login password. I did change CPU of this machine several months ago; if this has anything to do with it. Help please!

Here is a very helpful troubleshooting article that may be of some use to you. It does not seem reasonable that the CPU change from several months ago would be directly related to you Radio not turning on currently. Have you tried hitting Fn+F5 to pull up the control?
I have seen with a few others that a system restore, returned functionality to their machines, and this may be a option for you after doing a back up of course. Hope this helps, Good Luck.

W500 Wireless Radio wont turn on

My wireless raido on my W500 seems to be having issues. I've tried everything i can think to turn it on, Fn-F5, network and sharing center, checked the Bios (where everything is enabled and on), and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for the card. I believe it is a problem with ThinkVantage and a poor update, but im not sure.
Any ideas?

Wireless wont turn back on

My laptop ( cq60-430ca ) has a wireless kill switch that is either blue or red next to the power button,
i was getting wireless before, and the light kept switching between the colours whenever i was using the internet,
i was curious as to whether or not the kill switch still worked ( did not in ubuntu )
i pressed it and it turned the wireless off, but the problem is that it wont turn back on now,
i rebooted and went into the bios, and saw that in my boot options that "Network" had a "!" infront of it, meaning that it could not boot up from the network, so i saw where it was disabled in the bios and turned it back on,
i booted back into Arch and saw that i still could not find any wireless networks, even though i am still in my home,
i am using wicd ( currently connected through lan )

Apple wireless keyboard caps lock light wont turn off

I have an apple wireless keyboard that came with my 2011 imac and up untill last month the caps lock light wont turn off even when i turn caps lock off and its draining my battery. usually the keyboard will turn off whenever the computer was off but now i have to turn the whole keyboard off everytime im not using it to save battery.

It is probably faulty. If you are close to one, I suggest you take it to an Apple store for diagnosis.

Try resetting the PMU - Resetting MacBook and MacBook Pro System Management Controller (SMC). If you have no success then you'll need to take it in for service or replace the AC adaptor if it's gone bad.

Is NewerTech Wireless Adaptor known to fail on iMac G5, ISO 10.4.11?

I have a G5 iMac PPC with a Newer Tech Wireless Adaptor which is showing that my LAN is acitve (but vacilating off and on). Is there a way to test to see if the stick is faullty? At one time, last week, it was changing from my LAN to that of my neighbors. Today it just switches from on to off and back to on but FF and Safari won't connect. My other computers access the internet with no problem.

Hi a brody! I have a wireless mouse and a wired keyboard and the NT Ethernet Adaptor. I had this problem before and got it fixed then it recurred this week. I went back and found the thread where I fixed it and got it going but when I turned it on this pm it was baulky again. Is there a way to test the stick?
I think I just discovered why it was failing to maintain a connection today. I had an email that I wanted to keep and still wanted it off my mail list in my other coumputer (iMac Intel 21") I had the page on both the monitors, I deleted it on the Intel and FireFox broke the connection on the PPC but kept the page on the monitor. I restarted the page and FF reconnected sans the page in question so I guess it's all well now. There are so many things I don't know about these machines I seem to keep getting into trouble with them. Can I have mail delivered to both machines then toss it on one machine and keep it on the other?

Satellite A660 - Broadcom internal wireless adaptor is not working

Hi all,
My first post to this board - I have a new Toshiba Satellite A660 notebook - have only had it for about 4 weeks and it has turned out to be a disaster for me...
FIRST - I spend weeks getting everything on and configured the way I want it - then the hard disk starts to die...
I just got it back from the Toshiba service centre and NOW the wifi has stopped working...
The internal broadcom wireless adaptor is not working - but according to windows and the built in diagnostics it IS working...
HOWEVER - when I try to use wireless with the built in adaptor it can't detect any wireless networks...
I then plug in my backup usb netgear wireless adaptor and I can pick up and connect to both of my home wireless networks...
I am going overseas in a few weeks and need to know that my notebook is going to work/be reliable and not have any more problems - if anyone can help me with this it would be much appreciated.

A further update for you all...
Okay - went back to the Toshiba service centre - the first dead hard disk was replaced by them - but the REAL problem not spotted - it looks like my laptop came out of the Toshiba factory with a faulty motherboard - this in turn has now fried the second hard drive - and now - with a new motherboard and THIRD hard drive it looks like the hardware side of things MIGHT just be solved - but NOW I still have the problem that because the motherboard has been screwed since day one (I only bought this laptop in November 2010) it has basically stuffed/corrupted all of my backups - so now the service centre is charging me 60 dollars to get a set of disks so I can re-image the system myself when I have the chance - and then spend a month putting back all the applications and configuration and data the way I had it after the first few weeks of buying it (at that stage I thought I was good to go and had the perfect new laptop and setup for work...)
So - I'm heading off overseas in a couple of weeks - my 3 year extended warranty from Australia will not be of any use to me where I am going - not covered - but am STILL hopeful that I'll get the rest of the problems sorted - still can't run the toshiba hdd protection software for more than a few days without it dying and having to be reinstalled and the toshiba pc health monitor does not work at all - when I go to install it it doesn't recognize the bios or whatever - and on top of that I'm using third party hard disk monitoring software (because the toshiba stuff doesn't work on this toshiba laptop - but the third party stuff does) - well, anyway - the third party software is telling me the hard disk has reallocated sectors count error - and there is a CAUTION showing all the time - which I guess indicates that there is now a hard drive problem with the third hard disk (?)
Anyway - if ANYONE has had a similar run of bad luck to mine with the A660/O7U - I'd really like to know...

Tactic 3d rage wont turn on

Hey i have a Sound blaster tactic 3d rage wireless and i tried to update the drivers the other day, this resulted in the headset being in a "on mode" which means i couldn't turn it off or do anything with it so i let the battery die and started charging it again when i put the charger in there is a faint redness on the mic button so i knew it was getting power but the head set still wont turn on so i left it for a few hours and i still wont turn on.
Anyone know anything that could help me?

Ipad wont turn on

Good Day...
Last night i was trying to restore my ipad 3 ..but suddenly it turn off automatically at 7% charged. I tried to plug it on the adaptor for 3 hours but when i got back still the charging bar is still red / and i tried to turn it on it wont turn on. What shall i do? This is only a gift so i dont have the official receipt but i still have the whole packing box. Please help.

I would try to reboot one more time and if it still doesn't work, the next suggestion would be to restore your iPad.

Wifi turns off when connected to mobile card, but wont turn back on

I have a Sprint wireless internet card. When I connect to the mobile card, the Wifi radio turns off. I'm fine with it turning off while I'm connected to the mobile card, but the problem is that it wont turn back on when I disconnect the mobile card. If I try to use the button or other basic on/off switches in windows to turn it on, they wont respond. The only way I can get it back on is to run a troubleshoot, which shows that the radio is disabled and asks if I want to apply the fix that will turn it back on.
I'm on a Toshiba Satellite A665-S5170, Windows 7 (64), in the U.S.

So does this also happen if you dont connect the notebook to external monitor? So you can determine what is causing this problem.
If the notebook doesnt shut down without external monitor you should try to update the BIOS and display driver. Both updates you can find on the Toshiba website:

Do you close the lid if you have connected the external monitor?
What OS are you using?
Furthermore it would be interesting to know how you cleaned the notebook. Therefore I use compressed air spray that can blow out the dust from the cooling ventilators and you must not disassemble the notebook.

Phone dead, wont turn on, itunes wont acknowledge it HELP

last i checked my phone it was at 39% battery 5 mins later i got home checked again and it was turned off, i thought it weird but even on charge its dead wont turn on nothing.
I thought maybe i could connect to ITUNES and restore settings but itunes wont even acknowledge it. I am lost and i dont know what to do. Has this happened to anyone else before? Can anyone tell me anything to try and fix it.

If your iPhone won't power on when connected to the power adaptor - if the battery was completely depleted, this will take longer than normal - try pressing and holding the home button and the on/off button simultaneously while connected to the power adaptor. If your iPhone will not power on, the battery may have failed or there is another hardware problem.

I have a Satellite A215 which just wont turn on. I have the blue light flash on the power cable and on the battery. I have tried taking out the battery and memory.
I have tried to just use the power cord but with no luck please please help got all my pics on laptop and it just wont turn on

Service Center is a good idea, I agree.
At first you may try to determine the cause of malfunction. You say it won't turn on. What do you mean? If no activity can be felt (like noise of the fan, flashing of power-on button or indicator), then, perhaps, smth is really wrong with the mainboard. Did you drop it recently? :-)
Or may be the power-on button stopped working for some reason (like disconnect). In this case you are lucky, I belive they can easily fix it (which is not the case with the mainboard).
If the on-button flashes and the system seems to boot, but you can't see anything - well, something is definitely wrong with the screen. Go to service centre.
Meanwhile, why not extract everything valuable from your hard drive? I believe, It is can be removed easily, and yo can by a USB-adaptor to connect it to any other PC.

Hi Good day. Just trying to ask about my HP Mini 311. It wont turn on. When I try to press the power button, only the battery light blinks "thrice". Also when i put an ac adaptor, also blinking "thrice". Nothing appears on screen, but only the battery light keeps blinking everytime i press the power button. This scenario came when I shutdown the laptop by long pressing the power button. Please help.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Mini 313and having an issue starting up. Here is a link to do a system restore.
Choose the option that states restoring Windows to a previous point. you can restore it to a previous point when it was working correctly.Please note remove any and all USB devices, and remove memory cards from the card reader slot. Disconnect all non-essential devices.

1. Reset phone - press both home and power buttons for up to 30 seconds until the Apple logo appears/
2. If no response, plug into AC adaptor and charge for at least 30 minutes.
3. Repeat Reset if no response to charging.
4. If still no signs of live, there is a hardware failure. Take it to Apple or whovever provides iPhone service in your country.
