Need help iphone wont start !

there were a few problems with my iphone 3G so i decided to go to settings and erase all data and start a new. but now my iphone after booting just gets stuck at the apple logo and doesnt progress further.
am i doing anything wrong or are there things that i should do to get it to work

if its doing a secure wipe it can take some time... just plug it in and let it sit there.
not to make you panic but some here have waited 16 hours for it to complete

My iPhone got shut down yesterday because the battery was empty and now it just WONT start.

NO CHANCE!!
It even wont connect with iTunes oder any other computer. :-(

Hi,
How long has it been since you started erasing the data?
If you chose Erase All Content and Settings, it likely needed more time to zero out or completely wipe the drive.

NO one answered me! Need help: Iphone 5 doesn't search for a signal!

Everytime I am in library, my cellphone doesn't have a signal. So my phone only gets wifi.
When I leave the library, my iPhone 5 doesn't search for a signal. It shows me "no service" until I turn on/off the airplane mode.
Then the phone starts to search for signal.
Is this my phone problem or the carrier?
Should I get a replacement?

i have similar problem with my new iPhone and my old iPhone 4 as I thought if I get the new handset and new sim. this problem would go away, BUT still have a big problem with connection as if i move slightly in one room like as if i move my head to side to grab a pen the signals goes and thats endes my phone call and this is near anoth everytime i call. just been away to spain and the phone was perfect not a singal fault even my 3g was fast and didnt loose signal. so wen i come off the plane in england same again.no signal takes ages to connect to a new call after. i need help fast as this is my work phone and i am telling customers to ring landline. needs sort asa. apple can you help as this isn't the 02 connection as this is new phone and sim, and even if i get another sim still the same. regards matt

why would you think you could download songs to your shuffle from your phone? You need to synch your shuffle with your iTunes library on your computer.

HT1430 iphone wont start after restore.

i restored my iphone 3g now it wont start and just shows the itunes logo & the charge plug. help! i tried to restart it but it just keeps coming back on with the itunes logo & charge plug.

Well, since I had a video signal, I assumed that the HDMI wasn't a problem.
Network (WIFI- using a new Time Capsule Airport) worked with all other Apple devices in the house.
Here's what I did to solve:
Unplugged ATV2
Waited 3 days (no particular reason- just no time to mess with it)
Performed a restore again (power was not plugged in to ATV during restore)
Reconnected.
Now it works fine.
Can't explain why.
(I don't think anything changed over those 3 days)
I guess if at first you don't restore, try, try again.

Help, iTunes wont start

I was using iTunes this morning and it was working fine. I get back this afternoon and when I click on the iTunes logo in my dock, it jumps one time, the arrow appears under it, then the arrows go away and the icon stops jumping. That's it, no error message, no nothing. I attempted to rectify the situation by uninstalling iTunes, then re-downloading it from Apple and installing it. I installed it ok, went to open it and it did the same thing. I moved my iTunes Library, thinking there might be something wrong in there, and it still wont start up. This is the first problem I have had of any kind since I've had this Powerbook, it'll be a year this October. Can anyone help?

Iphone wont start after screen, lcd change.

Ok so i had dropped my iphone and broke my digitizer and main lcd display. no problem my iphone still worked. So i changed my lcd and digitizer and now my iphone wont turn on. Nothing "nada" I already did that home button power button reset and no apple logo nothing. Plugged into charger and nothing no battery meter no sign of life. I have done this before with no problem but i dont know what i did wrong. Also not even itunes will pick it up.. someone please help me

I completed the DFU mode and on my computer it would not work I think because of my security settings and I did not want to disable my antivirus so I used my moms computer who hasnt updated her antivirus and it worked using her laptop....when I did it on my computer I got Unknown Error 21 which when I researched it could have been the security on my computer so I would suggest this as well but also if you get an error its probably because of your security settings on your antivirus....good luck and thanks gdgmacguy

Help! Wont start up or charge after being put to sleep mid update

Please can someone help.
I started downloading the updates for my macbook pro but closed the lid accidentally when it was in the middle. I didnt have time to finish letting it run anyway so left it whilst i went away over the weekend.
Now the battery appears to have died (it has 1 light flashing) and it will not start up. When i plug the magsafe adapter in the light goes green but it will not go to amber to say that it is charging.
Please can someone help me.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. This article has some things you can try if your iPhone won't turn on:

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.

Iphone is detected in iTunes, and a recovery mode is detected, but the phone just wont power up, even after hours of wall charging.. Please help

You say Recovery Mode is detected by iTunes. Restore the Firmware with iTunes, when done, it will be obvious if Restore was successful. If not, there will be Error Code which you can look up solution. If Restore fails iPhone is most likely beyond repair. If Restore is successful, but screen is still not functioning, either screen is faulty or Logic Board display controllers are faulty, try entire front screen assembly replacement. During all this if you decide iPhone is broken, replacement at Apple Store is only $149, unless you have Warranty or AppkeCare Coverage which it will be free.

Iphone wont start.BIG PROBLEM

It gets the apple logo for about 15 seconds then its just blank, no vibrations or anything. Its just dead!
I was erasing all the data from the phone choosing "Erase All Content and Settings" option and i remained without battery... I have tried entering DFU mode but same thing, gets apple logo, then IT DIES!
if i try to hold home button and then to plug in the usb cable it will show the icon on iphone to Itunes, but the problem is that my PC is not recognizing the iphone.
Please i really need your help.

Charge it with a wall charger for at least 30 minutes. Then disconnect and hold HOME and SLEEP buttons until an Apple logo appears, about 10 seconds, then let go. If an Apple logo does NOT appear within 20 seconds you need stronger measures. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

I can't email apple on this, but maybe you can help, compressor wont start

This is a long letter I composed to send to apple about my compressor problems. I am having issues here in this paper, file:///Users/nelsonmay/Desktop/Compressor:%20Troubleshooting%20basics.webarchiv e but I have files missing even after 3 installs. Compressor works fine under another user name and I was told to migrate everything over to that new account, but the tech on apple phone support didnt' want to tell me how. I still have about 40 days of phone support on this software FCP6, but didn't get much on the phone. If you have the time to read though this and can help me with either getting compressor to install on my current user account or help me migrate over to my new one, I can go on and start working with this G5 again. If anyone can forward this onto apple, I would appreciate it.
Here is my initial problem and why I called tech support.

I am writing with a real problem with my compressor software. I called tech support 4/7/09 and didn’t get a lot of help. I was essentially told to create another account on my mac to see if compressor was on the other account. I was also told to migrate over to that other account. He also said that I could just reinstall compressor and everything would be OK. I logged to the new account I created on while on the phone and got compressor to start. I thought I was good, and since I didn’t feel I was getting support ( I asked to be walked through the process) I hope compressor would run. Later I tried to run a file on compressor – the new account I created, and go an error. I thought the next step was to go though the paper and reinstall compressor.
First I made sure the permissions were correct. Then I removed the user preferences, but I did not find this file com.apple.compressor.Compressor.plist. I decided to proceed thinking I may be able to get a clean install. The following files were missing and still are.

Again I went on with the remove and also removed motion like the paper said. When I tried to reinstall compressor from the FCP disc, it wanted the soundtrack discs and the live type discs. I though this was a bit much for having to install just compressor and motion.
OK, so after an hour of installing all the required discs, I did the software update and compressor would start, and I had the toolbar, but I couldn’t start a batch or open a file. When I tried to close compressor it said files were in the queue. Now when I logged out and logged on to the new account the tech had me create, compressor worked fine this time…under a different user account.
So this is what I need from you guys. I have been scouring the apple help and support pages asking for someone to help me migrate all my data and preferences from my user account to the one the tech had me create. I can’t find a thing on it and no one is answering my questions. I feel that isn’t possible.
Now I can go on, but this isn’t a very good option. I can save files from Motion, FCP etc, log out and log onto my new user account to use compressor. I would rather not do that. I like to export to compressor and make multiple files for different .
OK,
1. I need to fix compressor under my user account that I have had for 4 years on this G5
2. I need to be able to migrate to the new account I created and be able to have all my permissions as well as access to all data and other computers on my network. I also need to be able to log into this account on start up.

Usually they are good about support when you are under warranty. I have some time left on this software. I was just really surprised to get pushed to a white paper so fast and told, "to fix it myself". I have to give the guy credit, he did help me make another user account, but he just told me to migrate my data, and didn't tell me how when I said that I wasnt' sure how to do it.
FCP, is the problem on my system, not OSX. OSX didn't cause the issues in the first place. I also tried the compressor repair on numerous occasions and it didn't work. i am missing files on the install.....after three installs, I would think they would be there. That machine runs fine. Runs AE CS3, DVD Studio and HD on FCP without a hitch. Compressor is messing things up!

Help-iphone wont charge

Hi,
Last night I plugged my iphone into the wall outlet to charge and sat it down. I came back an hour later and noticed that it wasn't charging. So I plugged it into my computer and itunes couldn't reconize it and it also wouldn't charge. I went to the cingular store and bought a car charger. I plugged my phone into it and it started charging but it didn't have the charging icon on the phone. I'm stumped as to why itunes won't reconize my phone and why won't it work with the wall adapter??
