DMP 4400G RS 232 connection with Cisco LCD 100 PRO 40N

Hi everyone,
I know that this question was kinda asked before, but I still have trouble setting the DMM to control the Cisco  LCD 100 PRO 40N (Samsung) through the DMP RS 232 connection!
I have searched  and read every post on this forum, tried everything  ("Samsung_MDC_RS232_Protocol_Ver-21.pdf" & rs232.tx_hex= ) but with no avail.
We  have DMS VmWare Demo (Signs&Cast 5.2, Show and Share 5.2) and 4400G  with 5.2 firmware.
Also, I've connected the Serial  RS232 9-Pin Female to Female that came with the TV onto the DMP 4400G  and into the TV RS232 IN port, configured the DMP Display Control in the  Advance Task tab as you can see from the attach picture, and set the TV  type to Cisco 40N and Power ON and another task for Display OFF. What  am I doing wrong here!?
Any input will be  greatly appriciated!

With DMS 5.2, this pretty straight forward as your JPEG attachment shows.
Take a look at the documentation...
There may have been some steps you missed...

* Connect RS-232 cable to the DMP and the LCD.
I believe either RS-232 port should work for the LCD.  I thought the FRONT port (closet to front of TV)
was an IN\OUT port.  And the BACK port was just an IN port.  I used the BACK port for my testing.
* next, you NEED to ENABLE ON RS-232 controls on the DMP first.  From the DMM, issue the
"Advanced Task--> System Task --> RS-232: Control Supported, non-DMTech displays" for the DMP(s)
in question.   By default, RS-232 controls are disabled.
* Create 2 new System Tasks in the Advanced Tasks Tab.
Turn ON  - Cisco LCD = rs232.tx_hex=aa11fe010111
Turn OFF - Cisco LCD = rs232.tx_hex=aa11fe010010
* Once RS-232 Control is Enabled & the New System Tasks are created, You can now issue the LCD Turn On & Off
tasks from the DMM-DSM DMP Manager.
Note:  You can combine RS-232 commands using the "Control TV"  tool on the DMP Manager List Zone.  The "Control TV"
is designated by the TV with Antenna Icons in the DMP List Tool bar.

  • DMP 4400G not displaying content on Cisco LCD 110L PRO 47

    All,
I have a DMP 4400G connected to a Cisco LCD via HDMI.  The DMP is controlled through a DMM (5.2.3).  The IP info displays on the screen when I tell it to, but I am having trouble displaying content.
    I have tried the following:
Pointing the DMP to URL on the DMP.
Pushing a presentation from the DMM to the DMP.
Pushing a "go to url" from the DMP.
The DMM says that the task was submitted, but nothing displays on the DMP.
    Any thoughts?

Thanks for the input Joe.  The I was able to play the file straight from the DMP, as well as another mpeg2 file that I loaded on there.  I didn't get any audio from the file though...
My other issues seem to be specifically with the browser.  If I try to play a URL (media plane or browser plane) FROM the DMP, or try to play a playlist from the DMM, I get a "browser_play_failure" error in the syslog output.

  • LCD 100 PRO 40N error "Check Cooling System"

At our school, we have a Cisco LCD 100 PRO 40N that now shows a message on the screen that states "Check Cooling System".  I have not been able to find any information or documentation on how to do this or how to clear the message.  This message is coming for the LCD, not from the DMP it is connected to. Does anyone have any information that might help?

    Hello James,
"Check Cooling System" message is displayed on the screen when there is an issue with the cooling fan. Couple of things you can do proactively are check for ventilation issues on the back of the LCD screen. Switch it off for around 5-10 minutes and turn it back on. If the issue persists, open a Cisco TAC case to get an RMA.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I purchased Huawei Dongle and trying to connect with my new MacBook Pro (OS- Mountain Lion) USB port 3.0 but unfortunately it does not support.
When I plugged in my macbook the power is flowing in dongle due green light blinking twice in every 3 sec but no connection found or diver shown.
Please let me know how I have to use it. I got some suggestion for USB hub 2.0 but It does not make any sense and driver installation.
So please suggest proper direction to use it and provide link to install any driver.
    Thanks
    Tauheed Ahmad

Yes Clinton I did same, but they were (Huawei customer support) surprised about this problem, They behave like they have no idea about USB 2.0 and  3.0 knowledge. They handsUp that reason I posted my problem in this forum.
So is there any better solution to use any mediator between these USB version handling, Please let me know.
    Thanks

  • Mac mini not keeping connection with Cisco wireless access point

I am trying to get my wife's Mac Mini to keep it's connection with the wireless network at her school. They are using a Cisco access point (not sure of the model) which works fine with my G4 Powerbook and the numerous Macbooks being used there, but for some reason her Mac Mini drops the connection after 4 or 5 minutes, at which point she needs to log right off for it to reconnect (as opposed to just turning the card off and on again). I have already gone through the deletion of the Networkinterfaces.plist file, and recreation of the Airport card profile process, but this only kept the interface active for about 36 hours, then it was back to the same old problem. At this point I am thinking "flakey card"...before I ship it off to Apple, can anyone offer any other possible solutions?

After spending time on the phone with a Apple support technician, he indicated that the Iphone has a compatibility problem with the wep key encryption that the Cisco appliance uses. I find this disturbing being that Cisco is the biggest in network gear. What's UP Apple? We need SP1 for the IPHONE!!!

I have 54 DMP-4400G media players deployed throughout our campus. Periodically, one of them will lose connectivity to the network and will not recover without a hard boot via cycling the power. We have investigated this for a while and do not see any patterns in frequency, time or specific DMP location.
Has anyone had similar experiences? If so, how did you resolve this issue?
    Thank you,
    Jeff

    Hello all,
I fear that there can be a number of reasons to see these disconnections and there is no magic bullet.
The best advise I can give is to open a TAC case specifying:
    - if you can still see and renew the ARP on the next hop. So the router most of the time
    - if you can still ping the DMP
    - if you can still telnet to port 80 on the DMP
    - what the DMP is doing when you see the problem
TAC will then guide you towards finding a likely cause.
    Best regards, Peter

  • MacBook Pro dropping bluetooth connection with HP Officejet 100

I've recently started developing problems with my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.7.4) maintaining a bluetooth connection with my HP Officejet 100 Mobile Printer.
The problem I'm seeing is that when I send something to the printer, everything starts out okay, but then after about 10 seconds, the bluetooth icon in my status bar indicates that it is no longer connected.     The printer pauses for a minute or so and then spits out the half-printed page.
Anybody else seeing this?   Any suggestions on how to fix?

I have a similar issue, albeit a different bluetooth printer from yours.
According to a review on CNET's website, the dropping of bluetooth connections seems to have been introduced in the 10.7.4 update and did not exist in the 10.7.3 version of the Mac OS X Lion software.

  • Troubleshoot connectivity with Cisco MDS 9124

    Hello,
I recentrly discovered that it's become impossible to connect to a CISCO MDS 9124, neither with SSH nor with Serial connection.
What should i do please to resolve that issue please?
    Regards!

    Hi,
Are you able to access the 9124 by Device Manager, web browser, telnet, or ssh when your laptop is directly connected to the mgmt0 interface and your laptop configured on the same subnet as the mgmt0 interface?
What console settings, console cable, terminal emulator application are you using and does it work with another MDS9000?

  • Slow connection with Cisco Aironet 1040

I have been racking my brain for a while and cannot figure out why I am not getting 144Mbps out of my Aironet 1040. I was reading a previous thread (
https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2141961) and set it up exactly like it said. I have set the encryption to Cipher AES CCMP and set the SSID to open authentication. I also set the SSID's key management to enable WPA (WPAv2).
I was reading that WMM has to be set. I have 3 options: Disabled, Legacy, and dot11d. If i chose dot11d I have to put in a coutry code. Problem is there are no options in the country code pull down. I cannot even manually type it in.
Another problem is that cell phones cannot connect. It keeps saying authentication fails in the log.
Any reason why I am having such slow speeds?

WMM is enabled by default, or at least it should be.
What type of client are you using?  Check the specs of the WNIC, and see how many spatial streams that it supports.

  • Cisco LCD-110Q-PRO-55 Remote Code

I have the above monitor in a commercial environment and in a recent move we lost remote and manual. I have searched as much as I can via Cisco website and the net to find a manual to download or a remote control model but no luck. Cisco seems to have the later model TV manuals available online but not this model.
Via the original box we still have it was manufatured by Tech-Giant and then distributed by Quanta Displays Inc, neither of those companies have responded to me and probably dont care. I purchased a generic remote to tried the scan codes but no luck in finding codes to operate TV.
Would appreciate anyone helping to find a manual and codes to enter on remote or where to find a remote.
    Cheers

JD, the LCD-110Q-PRO55 is a Cisco monitor so if I wanted to contact the manufacturer of the display I would have to do it through TAC since they are the support arm of the manufacturer.
I know all about other manufacturers and the fact that some use ascii and some use hex.  I can successfully control Samsung, Panasonic, Clarity, NEC and more.  Most of these companies make it easy to get the codes right from the website but Cisco is either refusing to or simply doesn't know any better.
BTW, If I could have found the codes via google, I wouldn't have posted here.

  • Why won't my iPhone 4 connect with my Mac Book Pro?

My Mac Book can see my iPhone, but cannot connect to it.  Also, my bluebud x Jaybirds work fine with my iPhone 4, but are not seen by my Mac Book.

Well snozdop as you can see, I am new around here.  In most online forums you can "bump" an old thread and get new responses, rather than making a whole new thread about the same question.
So I was hoping by pointing out the fact that Panicazi (who seems to have to deleted his profile, maybe because of people like you) said that "This solved my question" when in fact it didn't, because you asked...
"For what purpose are you trying to connect the iPhone to the Mac via Bluetooth?"
    and then said
"Apple have never said "why" their implementation of Bluetooth is the way it is.
However, there are over 20 different Bluetooth profiles - not every device supports, or needs to support every profile. Some Bluetooth profiles would be useless on some Bluetooth devices.
File transfers over Bluetooth are slow. For the multi-gigabytes media files an iPhone it would be impractical for file transfers. USB 2 is many times faster."
didn't answer why his "...Mac Book can see my iPhone, but cannot connect to it..."  or the rest of his question; someone might respond with an answer, rather than a rude comment.

  • LCD 100 Pro -- screens are dark

We are running 5 of these screens with the 4400 dmps.  Since installing RS232 cables to allow use of Industry Weapon's Control IT module, the screens are now very dark.  Adjusting color/contrast etc makes no difference.  Even when the cables and the dmps are disconnected, the screens are still very dark.
has anyone else experienced anything similar with this screen?
    Rose Ann

    Hello Rosa Ann,
    So if you:
    - turn off the display with the switch on the back
    - disconnect everything but the power cable
    - turn the display back on again
Does the "Check Signal Cable" message on thescreen still looks dark?
You can press the 'menu' on the remote to see the menu and check colors/brightness...
If the menu is also dark please try Setup -> Reset -> Color Reset -> ok.
If this does not help then this is most likely a hardware problem .
    Best regards, Peter
